木もれびアルキテクト Comorebi Arquitecto

オックスフォードからロンドンの南にあるもうひとつの空港、ガトウィック空港へ直通バスで移動。翌日早朝に格安航空でドイツのケルンまで飛びました。電車で市の中心地へ、駅に到着すると目の前にドォーンッ！
Took a bus from Oxford to Gatwick, another airport in the south of London.  Next day, I took a cheap flight to Cologne, Germany.  When I got the city centre, the massive building suddenly appeared in front of the station.


ケルン大聖堂です。すごい迫力です。現存のものは1248年に建設が開始、様々な理由で完成が1880年、600年を要しました。ゴシック様式のしてはヨーロッパ北部最大、塔の高さは世界で２番目、ファサードの大きさは世界最大です。
Cologne Cathedral, I was overpowered with the scale and the beauty of the building.  The present cathedral was commenced in 1248, was completed in1880, took 600 years to built in some reason.  The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires and largest facade of any church in the world. 


大聖堂側には、波型の屋根が特徴的なルートヴィヒ美術館があります。大聖堂と調和してないこともないですね。ヨーロッパ最大のパブロ・ピカソの所蔵点数を誇ります。
Museum Ludwig which wavy roofs are quite unique beside the Cathedral.  Probably, I could say this modern building is in harmony with the historical cathedral.  This museum has one of the largest Pablo Picasso collections in Europe.


ケルンを流れるライン川沿いにはレストランが建ち並んでいます。
The local restaurants stand in a row along the Rhine flows Cologne.


ケルンでは友達のタマラに市内を案内してもらい、ケルンの歴史的な建築とレストラン文化を紹介してくれました。このレストランでは、地元料理のハンバーグ？を頂きました。
In Cologne, Ta Ma Ra, friend of mine, showed me around the city, especially the historical buildings and restaurant culture. We had some local meals like a hamburg steak of something.


ファサードと鉄製の看板が素敵なお店がありました。
I found a restaurant its facade and iron sign are cute.


ケルンの植物園を見学しました。特にドイツ特有の造園スタイルというものは見られませんでしたが、日本では見られない植物もあり興味深いものがありました。しかも無料なのに感動。
We then observed one botanical garden called "Flora".  There's no particular style of German garden, but I'm interested in local plants.  Amazingly, it's free to enter.


タマラの案内のおかげで、ケルンでもしっかり建築を見て学ぶことができました。ドイツ語も教えてくれてありがとう！
