ナポリから遅っい落書きだらけのローカル電車に乗ってポンペイへ。めっちゃ天気悪いし、雨振るとさぶいっす。風邪ひきました。
I took a local train with the graffiti, which is really slow, always not on time, to Pompei. I caught a cold because of the chilly rainy weather.


ポンペイに訪問する予定はなかったんですが、ナポリであった日本人の方に建築をしているなら、と薦められ行くことにしました。ご存知のとおり、紀元後79年、写真奥のヴェスヴィオ火山の噴火により一瞬にして街が消えたところです。山の形状を見ると火口付近が吹っ飛んだような形をしています。火砕流の速度が時速100kmといいますから、到底逃げようもないですよね。
I didn't suppose to visit Pompei, but one guy recommended me to visit for learnig acient city planning. As you know, this city was buried and disappeared in a matter of seconds in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD79. The shape of the volcano's like blowing off the top. I've heard the velocity of pyroclastic flow was 100km per hour, you can't escape from it.


火山近辺の土地特有の多孔質鉱石が建物のブロックに見られます。
I could see the porus stone brick, particulary from volcanic area.


道路には段差があり、ガイドの盗み聞きによると、これは道路が水路も兼ねていたからだそうです。飛び石も至るところに見られます。何がすごいかって、日本で言うところの弥生時代、稲作や高床式倉庫と同じ時代にこんな都市計画がなされていたことです。
There is a step height between sidewalks and roads. According to the guide, eavesdropping on her explanation, those roads also used as waterways. That's why you can see steppingstones here on the road. Incredibly, great city planning had been done at the same time as we started rice farming and building high platform storehouse in our "Yayoi Period".


ここでは珍しくブロックを斜めに積み上げた壁が見られました。同じような区画、プランで市民の建物が軒を連ねていたことがわかります。
It is rare to see slantingly piling the stones on the wall. The streets were lined with the houses with the same block and same plan. They shoud have been ordinary citizen's.


風呂？ガイドさんがいないと辛いですね。予習しておくべきでした。街の中には宮殿のような、中庭や壁画、こういった贅沢品があるところも見られます。
Bathtub? I should have prepared for the tour. There are some ruins of palace which has court yard, wall paint, and such luxuries.


火山灰に埋もれて亡くなられた人の形がそのまま残り、そこに石膏を流し込んで造られた人型が再現されています。
Plaster casts of victims still in situation, these were the spaces left by decomposed bodies and devised the technique of injecting plaster into them to recreate the forms of the victims.


こんな競技場や劇場の跡もありました。豊かな生活を送っていたことが想像できます。体育会系としては、競技場に立つと気持ちが高揚します。
Another surprise, stadium and theatre! I could imagine how ancient people had a good life here. I was excited about standing the middle of field as one old athlete.


宿泊した宿はEasy Bed Hostelといいまして、この遺跡近くにあります。安いのにここのおじいちゃんがシェフで料理めっちゃ美味いんです。おススメの宿です。おじいちゃんとナポリのサッカーチームが勝った時に一緒に花火見ました。
The accomodation I stayed named "Easy Bed Hostel", located near Pompei ruins, reasonable price, and amazingly the dishes were great! This hostel's grandpa is the best chef in Pompei. I recommend you this B&B. When the Naples local soccor team won the game, I saw some fireworks with the grandpa.
